GIIP announces post graduate diploma program in patents and IP services

Global Institute of Intellectual Property (GIIP), co-headquartered in New Delhi and San Jose, USA, announced the launch of Post Graduate Diploma Program in Patents and Intellectual Property (IP) services. GIIP's full-time nine-month (tri-semester) post graduate diploma program will commence from August 2007 and is designed for graduates and post-graduates in engineering, biotech, pharma and other technical fields.

The GIIP program is claimed to be the first of its kind in the world to train professionals for the rapidly growing global patent and IP services business. GIIP, in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, also completed a six-week certificate course on patents and IP services successfully.

"We believe that GIIP will prepare the students for attractive career opportunities in patent drafting, prosecution and IP, as some of the best IP practitioners and experts trained in the US will be conducting the courses" said senior advisor to GIIP, Dr VS Ramamurthy, former secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, India.

The GIIP team consists of successful IP practitioners, entrepreneurs, US attorneys, and technical trainers who are guided by senior experts. Chairman and mentor of GIIP, Dr Kailash Joshi, former IBM executive and co-founder of The Indus Entrepreneurs (www.tie.org) said, "We are pleased that we have architected a very strong training program for India that will be conducted by distinguished IP professionals and trainers. Our vision is to expand the program to several cities in India and other countries, including the US."
