Pune-based Nasan Medicals, in association with Hyderabad-based Genesis, developed a cardiovascular risk analysis system, PeriScope. According to YB Samant, director, Nasan Medicals PeriScope is a revolutionary, simple, economical and non-invasive screening and diagnostic tool that would pick up very early indications (even 5-8 years before) of diseases of the heart and blood vessels that cause heart attack, paralysis and kidney failure. "If detected early, such diseases can be prevented by simple medication or by mere a change in life style, saving one from high cost and high risk surgeries that need to be performed when it becomes an event like heart attack, kidney failure or paralysis," Samant said. PeriScope records ECG and blood pressure and presents it in the form of an actionable report giving the percentage heart, vascular and blockage risks through a simple painless test that takes less than 15 minutes, which does not even require a pre or post test preparation like fasting, injections or medication.
