Padmashree has put in constant effort to impart technical skill in latest biotech tools to students to help them get placed in the competitive job market

Padmashree Institute of Management and Sciences is affiliated to Bangalore University and recognized by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. The institute has fully-equipped plant biotechnology, animal biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry and organic chemistry laboratories. The institute is having well-qualified and experienced faculty with research projects sponsored by national and international funding agencies as well as industries.

The wide range of skills that they learn and acquire at Padmashree opens up a variety of career options for students. The curriculum is integrated with a novel industry-oriented training module in collaboration with industry and subject experts to impart special skills and provide hands on experience.

The under-graduate and post-graduate courses at the institute is integrated with 'BiodHRona', a novel industry-oriented modules designed in collaboration with industry and subject experts to provide hands-on experience and acquire techno-functional skills for students. Students are also encouraged to publish papers and posters at national and international journals/seminars/conferences regularly. Several of past students have published papers and are placed in reputed companies and research laboratories.

The biotech department has eight full-time faculty members and six part-time/visiting faculty members. The college has eight labs for biotechnological experimentation. The department has externally-funded research projects worth 25 lakh from the government in various areas of biotechnology and industry-sponsored projects worth 8.5 lakh. The institute filed two Indian patents between 2007 and 2010 and earned a royalty income of 3.5 lakh between 2009 and 2010.
