All Indian Origin Chemists & Distributors Ltd (AIOCD Ltd), based in Mumbai, is making efforts to convince the Government for utilizing a trade channel for the distribution of COVID vaccines likely available in India.

AIOCD being Jan Swasthya Rakshak Chemists of the country serving the nation by providing medicines in nook and corner of the country has the best possible way for the large population waiting for the vaccine. Furthermore, the company as pharmacist and chemists have the duty to co-operate local and State Government to provide the Covid vaccine for the public.

The company has even shared some aspects that need to be ensured for vaccine storage. The vaccine storage requires:

  • +2 degree C to +8 degree C temperature range throughout production, storage & delivery stages
  • COVID vaccines may require a temperature less than -20 degree C

AIOCD is preparing a PowerPoint presentation for cold chain management based on requirements, which will be sent to all States and districts to improve the cold chain management.

Covid Vaccine will also be required to be stored and transported in cold temperature containers like other vaccines. This could be a potential constraint, especially with a large number of doses as vaccines may lose potency when exposed to higher temperatures. Thus, temperature plays a critical role in preserving the efficacy of any vaccine.
