GE Healthcare, the Indian healthcare division of General Electric
Company Worldwide, has been awarded the Federation of Indian Chambers
of Commerce and Industry's (FICCI's) Healthcare Excellence Award for
taking healthcare to the masses.
The award was handed over by Dinesh Trivedi, Minister of Health
(State), Government of India, in New Delhi, along with film actor and
chairman of FICCI Entertainment Committee – South India, Kamal Haasan.
The FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards celebrate the spirit of
excellence in India's health services industry, thereby encouraging
initiatives in urban, semi-urban and rural areas; to provide accessible
and affordable quality healthcare to all.
While congratulating the winner, Shobha Mishra Ghosh, director of
FICCI, said, “One-hundred-and-thirty nominations were received for
FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards 2010, a forum which was set up to
recognize innovative and inclusive healthcare practices in India. FICCI
is pleased to recognize GE Healthcare for its significant, continued
efforts in taking healthcare to the masses affordably.”
