Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd upgrades their Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) at Dholka to Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), an online monitoring system for the same along with new constructions for chemical treatments and green walkways.

After the United Nations declared the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), otherwise known as the Global Goals, are a universal call to action, SDG 9 aimed to build resilient infrastructure, sustainable industrialization and SDG6 aimed at clean water and sanitation.

Cadila Pharma committed towards the same by up-scaling their Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) at Dholka to Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), an online monitoring system for the Final Water Analysis.

This method will ensure safer treatment of the effluents released while keeping the environment around the production plant, clean. The overhaul also consists of the construction of a neutralization tank, where the chemicals are added for pH correction and effluent subjected to coagulation-flocculation.

In addition to this, a process for Clariflocculator, the main clarifying unit which is a secondary treatment unit, both for water as well as wastewater, was established. It was separated from the integrated tank to lead to an aeration tank (existing and newly constructed) to handle the activated sludge.

Along with this, Cadila Pharma installed an advanced filtration with decanter machine in the sludge holding tank which will provide for dry cakes that can be disposed of in an easier and safer manner. A walkway and garden laid out in planned manner to deal with other environment issues.
