Biocon plans investment in UP’s health sector

A campaign should be launched to attract investors in the health sector.

Biopharma company Biocon is planning to invest in the healthcare centres of Uttar Pradesh and encourage entrepreneurs in the biotech space, especially the startups, to work in the state.

Accroding to the company, a survey should be conducted in all districts of UP, including Gorakhpur, for starting e-health care centres under a pilot project. A campaign should also be launched to attract investors in the health sector.

UP's industrial development minister Satish Mahana stated that UP has increased the limit of start-up corpus fund from Rs 100 crore to Rs 1,000 crore.

These developments took place during the second road show that was held in Bengaluru as a precursor for the Investment Meet to be held in Lucknow on February 21 and 22, 2018.
