To help the targeted cancer patients of the region in availing an affordable cancer treatment
Guwahati Refinery recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Cancer Care Foundation for providing special medical equipment to Silchar Cancer Centre, Assam, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The agreement was signed by GK Goyari, Chief General Manager and Refinery Head, Guwahati Refinery, and Kumar Nandula, CFO, Tata Cancer Care Foundation, in the presence of Gautam Chintey, Director, Assam Cancer Care Foundation, and senior officials from Indian Oil, Assam Cancer Care Foundation, Tata Cancer Care Foundation, and Tata Trust.
The MoU between Indian Oil Guwahati Refinery and Tata Cancer Care Foundation establishes a partnership wherein Guwahati Refinery will extend a financial support of Rs 16.39 crore in providing medical equipment like LINAC for delivering external beam radiation therapy, Treatment Planning System, a computer-based software system used in radiation oncology, dosimetry and immobilisation devices, as well as brachytherapy, i.e., internal radiation therapy used to treat cancer.
