Adoption of digital anatomy 3D printer to create realistic anatomical models

The Aakash Healthcare Super Speciality Hospital in Dwarka has opened its Advanced 3D Printing Lab, in partnership with Stratasys, an American-Israeli manufacturer of 3D printers.

The Stratasys Digital Anatomy 3D Printer will transform the practice of orthopaedics at Aakash Hospital by enabling the creation of highly accurate and realistic anatomical models tailored to each patient's unique anatomy. The models created improve staff training and pre-surgical planning which will help enhance surgical precision, reduce complications, and accelerate recovery times, ultimately elevating the standard of care for patients.

Andreas Langfeld, President, Stratasys EMEA and APAC, commented, “The launch of this advanced lab at Aakash Healthcare, featuring our Digital Anatomy 3D Printer, is a significant milestone in our mission to improve patient care through 3D printing technology. This partnership reflects our commitment to providing healthcare professionals with the tools they need to deliver personalised, precise treatment."

"The integration of Stratasys’s technology into Aakash Healthcare is a testament to the transformative potential of 3D printing in medicine," said Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Stratasys India. "Our collaboration with Aakash Hospital will demonstrate the true capabilities of 3D printing in delivering personalised healthcare solutions. By providing surgeons with precise and functional anatomical models, we are not only improving surgical preparation but also advancing overall patient care.

Dr Aashish Chaudhry, Managing Director of Aakash Healthcare Super Specialty Hospital, said, "Integrating Stratasys Digital Anatomy 3D Printing technology into our orthopaedic practice marks a major advancement in delivering personalised, precise, and effective treatment options. This partnership will enhance patient care and drive innovation across multiple medical disciplines."

The 3D printing lab will serve as a hub for medical innovation, supporting pre-surgical planning, training, and the development of new medical devices.

This collaboration is expected to set new benchmarks in the field of medical technology and strengthen the position of Aakash Hospital as a leader in adopting cutting-edge solutions for patient care.
