Telerad Group and NIMHANS to expedite and improve stroke and head trauma diagnosis

India reports an alarming incidence of one stroke death every four minutes, making it the second most common cause of death in the country

In a major advancement for stroke care, the Telerad Group has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru to strengthen efforts in the prompt detection and interpretation of stroke and head injuries.   

As part of the MoU, Telerad Group’s Telerad Tech and Telerad Foundation, along with NIMHANS will jointly undertake research and development in the area of implementing stroke protocol and detecting and interpreting head injury and other trauma needing immediate medical interventions, with artificial intelligence (AI)-enhanced Radiology Diagnostics which have been Made In India.

As part of the agreement, Telerad Tech will deploy NeuralAssist -  a proprietary deep-learning based software device that uses the power of AI to analyse head CT scans. The stand-alone cloud-based software system consists of an on premise module and a cloud module.

NeuralAssist is integrated into RADSpa, a  next generation AI-enabled radiology workflow platform with in-built Radiology Information System-picture archiving information system (RIS-PACS), which is scalable and designed to meet the requirements of Teleradiology. Both NeuralAssist and RadSpa are Made in India.
