The Telangana Pharmacy Council is embroiled in allegations of corruption concerning the registration and renewal processes for newly graduated candidates within the state. According to credible sources within the Pharmacy Council and reports from candidates, it has come to light that at least four out of every five individuals have encountered instances of corruption when dealing with council officials.

Approximately 150 candidates approach the council daily seeking new registrations and certificate renewals. Shockingly, many are compelled to pay sums ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 and even more to expedite their paperwork. As the Pharmacy Council elections are set to commence today, on October 19, 2023, concerns have arisen regarding the potential manipulation of the electoral process.

Council officials have stated that they have implemented rigorous measures to ensure the elections proceed smoothly and without any irregularities. While some temporary and permanent officials are suspected of engaging in corrupt activities, Telangana state Pharmacy Council (TSPC) Registrar Yogananda vehemently denied these allegations, emphasising their commitment to conducting the elections with integrity.
