In collaboration with MedGenome, Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute (SRMC & RI) has launched a genomics centre within the University premises. The Centre was inaugurated today by Dr.Sachdev Sidhu from the University of Toronto, Canada.
The centre is aimed at providing a significant boost to SRMC’s genomic capabilities. The focus of the facility will be to deliver the most up to date genomic based diagnostics for patients and also provide researchers a great opportunity to advance their understanding of the human biology.
The genomics centre brings together an outstanding collaboration between SRMC & MedGenome to provide an environment for researchers and doctors to translate cutting edge Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) based genomic solutions into new and actionable patient services. Additionally a Genetic Health Clinic will be setup to offer counselling to patients on hereditary cancers, pregnancy related matters, genetic and neurological disorders.
