Dr Sunita Tandulwadkar, an internationally acclaimed infertility specialist, endoscopic surgeon, and gynecologist, has been formally appointed as the 63rd President of the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI).
Dr Sunita takes on this prestigious role with a steadfast commitment to tackling critical challenges in women’s health and advancing healthcare accessibility, education, and preventive care across India.
She serves as a Chief IVF Consultant and Endoscopist of Ruby Hall Clinic. She is the one who started the trend of Laparoscopic Hysterectomy and advanced endoscopic surgeries in the city of Pune – since 1995.
She has earlier served as the Vice-President Elect, West Zone FOGSI (2017); and FOGSI Infertility Committee Chairperson (2011-2013).
Visionary initiatives announced under Dr Sunita’s leadership at FOGSI include nationwide campaign emphasising the importance of pre-conceptional care to improve pregnancy outcomes and reduce maternal and neonatal mortality; identifying early signs of chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and anemia through a new programme; a large scale project aimed at combating cervical cancer by increasing awareness about screening and HPV vaccination.
