Manipal Hospital Yeshwanthpur announced the appointment of Dr Ajay Shridhara Shetty, as Lead Consultant – Urology, Renal Transplantation & Robotics Surgeon. He is a renowned urologist, andrologist, and specialist in renal transplantation. He has a wider experience in handling complex laparoscopic surgeries to treat urological disorders. He has successfully treated many cases of urological cancers of the prostate, bladder, and kidney, and has also specialised in the treatment of male infertility and impotence.

Dr Shetty earned his undergraduate degree in JSS Medical College Mysore, completing his MBBS in 1999. He had the benefit of comprehensive general surgical training at Bangalore Baptist Hospital, Bangalore, which was adjudged as the best DNB training hospital in the country. He was awarded the Dr B Ramamurthy DNB Gold medal for General Surgery in 2004 at the national level.  He then went on to complete his DNB-Urology training at Muljibhai Patel Centre for Research in Nephron-Urology, in Nadiad, Gujarat, a Centre of Excellence of international repute.
