Deakin University, Australia has announced an Honorary Doctorate to Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairman and Managing Director, Biocon Limited.
She said, “The Deakin-Biocon scholarship aims to deliver integrative education in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics that will encourage the student to be a future innovator.”
The Honorary Doctorate is to felicitate Ms. Mazumdar-Shaw's long spanning achievement in the field of health, science and technology. It celebrates how she has set an example for creating a strong narrative for women leadership in India and reiterates Deakin University's aim towards encouraging careers of the future.
The university has also partnered with Biocon to give away one 100% scholarship for on-store studies at Deakin University, Australia in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) either at undergraduate or post-graduate level.
