In need of additional skilled resources in the coming two years

Sartorius India, a key element in the supply chain of the Sartorius Group’s network and supports the fast-growing India and APAC markets, is currently employing 670 people, around 60 per cent of which are engineers and have a university degree.

The company is looking for adding over 50 skilled workforces in different areas of operations such as R&D, to IT, to sales & services, to operations and marketing.

Taking to BioSpectrum, Anthony Prakash, Managing Director and Head of Operations at Sartorius India said, “With our continued investments in new production line for pallet tanks used in single-use bioreactors and testing chromatography systems in the coming two years we do require additional skilled resources. Hiring is an ongoing process.”

He further said “Bengaluru plant is the only site manufacturing Engineering to Order (ETO) solutions in stainless-steel, and it strengthens Sartorius’s position as a leader in the global bioprocessing market. The ETO business provides an excellent platform to integrate customer requirements with innovative solutions. By doing this Sartorius has developed and tailored solutions for customers in a cost-effective manner while maintaining the highest standards.”

“The ratio of products produced for overseas and local markets varies each year. Export can reach up to 80 per cent of the total manufacturing business,” he added.

The Bengaluru plant is a major manufacturing site for stainless-steel components and bioreactor systems. The stainless-steel bioreactors range from 5 liters to 6,500 liters and are supplied to biopharma customers around the globe. With an efficient manufacturing process, robust supply chain and skilled workforce, the site supplies highest quality standards, thereby offering very competitive pricing.

The Bengaluru Campus opened in 2009, includes 500 sqm clean room where consumable products such as filters, disc membranes and tubing kits in GMP quality are produced.
