King’s College Hospital to come up at Amaravati

Naidu said that he aspires to make the State a Medical hub.

N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh laid the foundation stone for King’s College Hospital, which is coming up in Amaravati, by Indo-UK Foundation with an estimated cost of  Rs 1,600 crore.

“With the project, Amaravati gets its largest investment in the health sector,” said Naidu, adding that the first phase of the hospital would be inaugurated on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.Naidu said that he aspires to make the State a Medical hub. The new capital of Amaravati is going to be the Medical Tourism Hub in near future, he said. Chief Minister announced that yet another 20 medical colleges are coming to the State soon. “Kings is one of the world’s most famous hospitals which has come to Amaravati to headquarter all the future projects of that group in the country,” the Chief Minister said.

“India and United Kingdom had government-to-government agreement for developing 11 Indo-UK Institutes of Health (IUIH) in India by Indo-UK Healthcare Private Limited. It will create over 10,000 job opportunities in the health industry. The first phase of king’s College hospital with nursing school, NHS oncology unit, and liver transplant unit will be ready in the next two months and I want it to be inaugurated on October 2,” Naidu said.
