Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda launched two important national initiatives – India's Strategy for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare (SAHI) and the Benchmarking Open Data Platform (BODH) for Health Artificial Intelligence – at the India AI Summit at Bharat Mandapam.
SAHI is the national guiding framework to enable the adoption of AI in India's healthcare system in a safe, ethical, evidence-based and inclusive manner. It aims to provide critical direction on the operation, data management, validation, application, and monitoring of AI solutions, as well as assist states and institutions in adopting it in a responsible manner in line with public health priorities.
The Benchmarking Open Data Platform (BODH) for AI in Healthcare, developed by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in collaboration with the National Health Authority, is a private privacy-safeguarding standard platform that enables accurate evaluation of AI models using diverse, real-time health data without sharing the underlying dataset. As a Digital Public Resource under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, it has been designed to strengthen trust, transparency, and quality assurance in the use of AI in the health sector.
