“We are coming up with Centres of Excellence (CoEs) for health science & medical devices and also a circular economy lab, all of which we wish to collaborate with ecosystems of countries from across the globe,” said Priyank Kharge, Minster for Information Technology (IT) and Biotechnology (BT), Government of Karnataka.

Speaking at the Global Innovation Alliance (GIA) Partners Meet held on August 28, 2023 in Bangalore, the Minister said “Karnataka is taking bold steps to weave together a Global Innovation Alliance (GIA) with as many countries to facilitate regular knowledge and idea exchanges, fostering innovation and investment on a global scale. Through this initiative, countries within the alliance host technology sessions, where ecosystem connections, the exchange of ideas and people, and discussions on policy environments will take place. The participation of minister-level delegations from key GIA partner countries will further strengthen these engagements.”

Kharge further said “Through international collaborations, we gain access to diverse perspectives, experiences, and ideas. We foster a culture of open dialogue and shared learning, where breakthroughs in one corner of the world can inspire innovation in another. This not only accelerates the pace of discovery but also enhances the impact of technological solutions on a global scale.”

He continues to add that moreover, collaborations amplify the potential for investment and economic growth. By combining resources, he said “we create a more attractive environment for investors and entrepreneurs. This paves the way for the creation of new industries, the development of emerging technologies, and the generation of high-skilled jobs. “

The Minister concluded his address by inviting the country representatives in India, “Let us embrace our shared future and seize this moment to forge partnerships that transcend borders and bridge gaps. By working together, we can harness the power of technology to build a brighter, more inclusive, and sustainable world for generations to come.”
