The objective of the summit was to discuss on Transforming the Perception of Indian HealthCare Industry

PHD Chamber in association with Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers and Department of Biotechnology recently organized 6th PharmaMed HD 2019.

The objective of the summit was to discuss on Transforming the Perception of Indian HealthCare Industry. The dignitaries present at the event deliberated about India as an emerging sector in the healthcare destination and how industry is looking forward to contribute more significantly to the healthcare delivery in the country as well as across the globe.

Dr D K Aggarwal, Sr. Vice President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, “There is a significant scope for enhancing healthcare services considering the major impetus of government on Healthcare for all. He said that rural India accounts for over 70 per cent of the population and is set to emerge as a potential demand source for the industry.”

While inaugurating PharmaMed, D. V. Sadananda Gowda, Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers said, “Indian industry can give a big push to the growth of healthcare sector in the country. Industry an important pillar for growth of the healthcare sector and millions of jobs to be created.

He further emphasized that the thrust of the government is on facilitation to the industry to ensure the best healthcare delivery to the citizens for making India- a global leader in quality healthcare.

“The sector is expected to generate employment for millions people by 2020. He added that the government is taking several initiatives such as 100% FDI for pharma sector, Greenfield investment opportunity, flagship schemes such as Ayushman Bharat and Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana and setting up of R&D centres to give a boost to the sector”, he added.

Sudhansh Pant, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare; Dr T S Kler, Chairman (Hospitals), Health Committee, PHD Chamber & Chairman, PSRI Hospital; Prof Bejon Misra, Chairman, Public Health Committee, PHD Chamber & Founder, Patient Safety and Access Initiative of India Foundation; Dr V G Somani, DCGI, CDSCO and Bhargav Kotadia, Managing Director, Sahajanand Medical Technologies were also the part of the event.
