Hyderabad based Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) is planning to incorporate a central laboratory system and to launch a new Stem Cell Department to provide most advanced medical treatment to the people of Telangana state.
At present the proposed stem cell research centre and bone marrow transplantation facilities are under construction and once these two facilities will come into operation, the poorest of the poor can avail most advanced treatment facilities at affordable rates.
NIMS is regarded as one of the best hospitals run by the government in the state. It is the only hospital in the government sector to have advanced medical treatment facilities on par with some of the leading Super Speciality Hospitals in Hyderabad.
Dr. C. Laxma Reddy, Minister for health and medical education, stated that the government is giving highest priority to provide most advanced and quality healthcare to the people. As part of this for the first time in the state, stem cell research centre and a central laboratory system is being introduced. With these new advancements, the government is planning to expand more and more new medical services to the public.
