BBC to incubate winners of COVID-19 innovation challenge

The winners will be given the required facilities at BBC

COVID-19 innovation challenge by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) in partnership with Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre (BBC), IIM-B and IISc launched by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on June 1st has been concluded.

In the competition of 1160 applicants, three winners were selected viz., Dr Deevish ND and team for Universal Pressurized or PowerEd Respirator- A unique low cost PAPR for medical professionals, Mr Pritik Shah and team for SAN-CAP and SAN-POD- One stop, cost effective, dose specific capsulated sanitiser and Dr K Rashmi and team for Green PPE- an ingenious eco-friendly virucidal PPE.

BBC will be incubating and mentoring these 3 winners of this challenge. The winners will be given the required facilities at BBC such as access to world class instrumentation facility, bench space, mentorship, networking etc.

It was also decided that prize money worth Rs 10 Lakhs will be given to BBC to be distributed to the winners.
