The working arrangements at the CSIR have been approved through the order no. 6-8(2515)/2014-Ell dated January 17, 2014 by Mr Jaipal Reddy, minister of science and technology and vice president, CSIR.  

The order has appointed Dr Thirumalachari Ramasami, current secretary, DST to hold additional charge of the post of director general, CSIR. Prior to that, Prof Samir K Brahmachari was the director general of the leading scienfitic organisation from November 11, 2007 to December 31, 2013.

According to the order, senior-most director, Dr P S Ahuja, director, Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT) shall function as the coordinating director and assist the director general in Charge in discharging day-to-day activities until further orders of the VP,CSIR .

A committee of senior directors: Dr P.S. Ahuja, director, IHBT, Dr M.O. Garg, director, Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) and Dr Chandra Shekhar, director, Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CEERI), is constituted to review the establishment-related decisions and pending matters and advise further actions within two weeks; to design and advise in positioning a decision support system on matters relating to establishment and transfer policies. 

An interim committee under the chairmanship of Dr P.K. Ghosh with financial advisor, CSIR and Dr Sudeep Kumar, head, PPD, CSIR as members is constituted for advising the Budgetary allocations for the year 2013-14 under resource constrained situations after the revised estimates were finalized.
