 a difference
BioSpectrum's CSO Series showcases the efforts of various scientists who have contributed substantially to the life sciences industry in India. In this issue, BioSpectrum showcases the work of three individuals:

Dr Navin Khanna, group leader, Mammalian Biology Division, Recombinant Gene Products Group, International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, New Delhi; Dr Sivaramakrishnan, president, R&D, Piramal Life Sciences, Mumbai; and Dr Manjula Das, CSO, Abexome Biosciences, Bangalore.

While Dr Khanna has pioneered an alternative in diagnostics by developing an indigenous dengue vaccine, Dr Sivaramakrishnan is spearheading the research divison of Piramal Life Sciences towards achieving the goal of commercializing its NCE by 2013 among other scientific activities. Furthermore, Dr Das is facilitating in the research activities of other life science firms by providing vital reagents and assays required in developing biosimilars.
