UP government awards Dr P K Seth

The first time instituted Vigyan Vibhushan Award was conferred on Dr P.K. Seth by Mr Akhilesh Yadav, chief minister, Uttar Pradesh (U P) Government, during the Inaugural function of first U P science congress held at Gorakhpur on March 2, 2013.
The theme of the science congress was science for shaping the future of UP. Dr Seth also gave a lecture on role of biotechnology for shaping the future of U P and interacted with students and participants of the U.P. Science Congress.
Dr Seth, a biochemical pharmacologist and toxicologist has made pioneering contributions to the field of neurotoxicology. He has been associated with the Biotechnology City, Lucknow Project, as the nodal officer, since its initiation by the department of biotechnology (DBT), government of India. He is, a former director Industrial Toxicology Research Centre, Lucknow and also the adjunct professor of toxicology at Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi and honorary Professor, biochemistry, Lucknow University, Lucknow.
