MMA Spectrum Foundation to create an enabling environment for young innovators, researchers, and startups: Ravindra Boratkar

The MMA Spectrum Foundation, an initiative of the MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications Pvt. Ltd, emerged as a central force at the BioSpectrum Excellence Awards 2025, highlighting its growing commitment to strengthening India’s life sciences and innovation ecosystem.

“Positioned at the intersection of biotechnology, biosciences, nutrition, food processing, agriculture, and allied sectors, the Foundation has been actively working to create an enabling environment for young innovators, researchers, and startups,” said Ravindra Boratkar, Publisher & Managing Editor, BioSpectrum India and Managing Trustee, MMA Spectrum Foundation.

Welcoming the august gathering including Minister for Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh, who served as Chief Guest and presented several awards, at the BioSpectrum Excellence Awards 2025 held on December 5 in Delhi, Boratkar said “The Foundation aims to work in two areas. It plans to encourage startups by providing the necessary help to the young thinkers with bright ideas having entrepreneurial vision. This will include mentoring, capacity building, helping develop entrepreneurial skills, bringing startups and venture capitalists together and trying to forge strong academia-industry alliance.”

He further said “We being a media company the foundations other objective is to undertake research projects, publish reports, surveys, books, monograms and organize workshops, seminars, conferences and other events like this awards function. The Foundation team is engaged in planning activities on these lines throughout the year to strength the ecosystem of innovation and startups.”

By offering structured mentoring support, capacity-building programmes, and entrepreneurship development initiatives, it aims to empower early-stage companies and scientific thinkers to translate breakthrough ideas into viable products and solutions. The Foundation plays a catalytic role in connecting startups with venture capitalists and industry leaders, fostering stronger academia–industry collaboration, and building a pipeline of future-ready enterprises.

Complementing these efforts is its robust focus on knowledge creation and dissemination, reflected in its work on research projects, industry reports, surveys, analytical studies, books, and monographs. Leveraging the deep sectoral expertise of the MM Activ media platforms, the Foundation also organizes conferences, workshops, seminars, and flagship events to encourage industry-wide dialogue, celebrate achievements, and strengthen the national innovation landscape.
