Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and held annually since 1973, World Environment Day has grown to be the largest global platform for environmental outreach. On 5th June, millions of people are celebrating this day across the world, and across industrial sectors such as pharma, biotech, medtech, agriculture etc, in the most sustainable way!

“By advocating and embracing innovative technologies such as minimal-flow anaesthesia, we can ensure exceptional patient care goes hand-in-hand with a greener future. We believe innovation can bridge this gap and environmental responsibility is not just a box to tick, but an unwavering commitment woven into the fabric of everything we do. The transition to a more sustainable healthcare industry requires a collective effort. Together, by sharing knowledge and best practices, we can create a more sustainable healthcare ecosystem that benefits both patients and the planet.”

Shalin K. Patel, Managing Director, Dräger India Group

“World Environment Day calls for industries to embrace sustainable development, with the technology sector leading the charge. This journey towards sustainability is not one that can be traversed alone. It requires collective action and industry-wide collaboration. As we observe World Environment Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to innovation that fosters ecological sustainability, shaping a resilient future for future generations."

Piyush Somani, Chairman, CMD & CEO, ESDS Software Solutions

“The future of a sustainable environment in the industry includes integrating circular economy principles, advancing green technology innovations, and fostering collaborative efforts across sectors.”

Mahesh Anand, President, Nippon Paint India

“I have witnessed a surge of sustainable innovations and solutions in transforming healthcare as we know it. This World Environment Day, it is of utmost importance to recognise that sustainable healthcare is no longer an option, but a necessity for the future. We have established a goal to reduce the environmental footprint of healthcare products without compromising their efficacy or accessibility."

Sandeep Thombre, Design Head - London Studio, Tata Elxsi

"Narrow sighted focus on decarbonisation or supply-side technology innovations like renewable energy adoption manipulates our perception of reality on the back of unchecked and rampant consumption-growth driven by a lopsided focus on GDP, than on reducing inequality or inculcating mindful consumption whilst significantly enhancing circularity in every aspect of what we take out and consume from the planet.

The innovation we need here is more seamless governance and regulatory models between ministries, centre, state and cities on one hand, alongside business models that cut across sectors and partnerships that transcend between for and not for profit entities."

Tabreed India - Sudheer Perla, Managing Director – Tabreed Asia & Country Manager – India, Tabreed

"The World Environment Day is a reminder of our duty towards safeguarding the planet and building a sustainable future for all. In the face of escalating environmental challenges, the need of the hour is to leverage technology and innovation to combat climate change and come up with sustainable energy solutions."

Kishan Karunakaran, CEO of Buyofuel

"Let’s resolve together to advocate for policies that address environmental health issues and promote sustainable practices. We also encourage you to participate in community programs and initiatives that promote environmental health. Together, we can create a healthier, more sustainable future for everybody."

Prof Vivekanand Jha, Executive Director - George Institute India

"As we celebrate World Environment Day, it's impossible to ignore the urgent need to protect our planet for future generations. The catastrophic effects of climate change are hitting us hard, and the automotive industry has a massive responsibility to drive positive change.  Let's embrace electric vehicles wholeheartedly and get behind initiatives promoting environmental sustainability. Together, we can build a greener, more liveable world for ourselves and future generations."

Dr Amitabh Saran, CEO & Founder, Altigreen

"Global warming is real and it is here. Many Indian cities are already facing the brunt. This is no longer a risk, it is an issue which demands the urgent need for collective efforts to mitigate its impact. Our planet's well-being and future depends on our ability to switch to sustainable and eco-friendly solutions - electric vehicles being one of them."

Maxson Lewis, Founder & CEO, Magenta Mobility

"Every day, our regular activities, from driving cars to using electricity, generate carbon emissions, significantly impacting our planet's health and contributing to climate change. Understanding the extent of our carbon footprint is crucial because you cannot reduce what you cannot measure. Once aware, individuals can adopt mindful practices to reduce their emissions."

Tanya Singhal, Founder, Mynzo Carbon and SolarArise
