The Government of Karnataka hosted the Global Innovation Alliance (GIA) Meet in Bengaluru on October 6, to strengthen international participation and collaboration ahead of the Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) 2026, scheduled for November 17–19 at BIEC.
Dr Manjula N, Secretary to Government, Department of Electronics, IT, Biotechnology and S&T, provided an overview of BTS 2026 and highlighted opportunities for international partners to showcase their technologies, government initiatives, industry capabilities and academic strengths through the Summit’s exhibition, conference and country delegations.
The meet was attended by Priyank Kharge, Minister for Home, IT & Bt and e-Governance, Government of Karnataka; Dr Avinash Menon Rajendran, Managing Director, KITS & KEONICS and Director, Department of E, IT, Bt and S&T, Government of Karnataka; Dr E V Ramana Reddy, (Retd.), Chairman, Karnataka Skill Development Authority; and Jagdish Patankar, Event Curator, BTS 2026 and Executive Chairman, MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications.
Representatives from GIA partner countries and international agencies, including Japan, the US, Germany, France, South Korea, Australia, Sweden, Italy, Switzerland, Canada and the Netherlands, among others, also participated in the meet.
BTS 2026, themed ‘AI & Beyond’, is expected to bring together more than 90,000 attendees, 1,000 startups, 1,000 investors, 700 speakers and 1,800 exhibitors from over 75 countries.
