Wockhardt Executive Director and CEO of Wockhardt Foundation Dr Huzaifa Khorakiwala, a voice in global health and peace advocacy, has been appointed Health Advisor to the Prime Minister (PM) of Guinea‑Bissau, Rui Duarte Barros.
Known for his visionary leadership and commitment to social transformation, Dr Khorakiwala has championed access to healthcare and human dignity for millions. In his new role, he will advise on modernising healthcare infrastructure, strengthening medicine supply chains, and implementing digital health and telemedicine solutions in Guinea‑Bissau. His approach draws from India’s success with scalable health platforms such as Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, e‑Sanjeevani, CoWIN, and integrated health ID systems.
Through his ability to combine strategic insight with a humanitarian approach, he has led transformative programmes through Wockhardt Foundation, mobile-health clinics, sanitation, education, and digital infrastructure, reaching over 200 million people. He will now leverage India’s public-health achievements and digital infrastructure to support Guinea‑Bissau’s journey toward universal, affordable healthcare.
Dr Huzaifa Khorakiwala is a prominent global humanitarian, peace advocate, and business leader. As Executive Director of Wockhardt, and CEO of Wockhardt Foundation, he has spearheaded large-scale health, education, and sanitation initiatives across India, earning national and international recognition for innovation and impact. Under his leadership, the Foundation’s flagship Mobile 1000 programme has delivered free primary healthcare to over 40 million underprivileged people in rural India over the past 12 years.
