West Pharmaceutical Packaging India, a subsidiary of West Pharmaceutical Services, recorded good performance touching estimated revenue of Rs 8,200 crore globally for 2013-14. In 2012, registering over 19.4 percent growth.

West provides innovative solutions for injectable drug administration for pharmaceutical and solutions for drug packaging, administration and delivery systems. The company has been in business for 90 years in the US, and it is the largest global supplier of primary packaging for injectable medicines components in the APAC region. Its recently launched quintessential products include West Spectra Seals, Daikyo Crystal Zenith, Needle Safety Systems, Administration Systems, NovaPure Components, Westar Processing and Injection System Platform Technologies.

In addition, West has promoted proprietary self-injection systems including the SmartDose electronic wearable injector, SelfDose injector, ConfiDose auto injector and Nova-Guard needle safety systems.

The world's top 35 biologics, whose 2012 sales were $108.5 billion, are now being packaged and delivered with components manufactured by West and its partner, Daikyo Seiko. In July 2014, West commissioned its first manufacturing facility in India,
which is a pharmaceutical seals manufacturing unit in Sri City SEZ in Chennai. The facility has an annual capacity of manufacturing one billion seals, and was erected with an investment of $15 million from company.
