Amol Naikawadi, Joint Managing Director, Indus Health Plus, Pune talks about the ongoing situation of COVID-19

"Unfortunately no one can predict this but it’s important that we keep putting efforts in the right direction to flatten the curve. And, we hope that the curve will flatten by May end or early June. Indian government at all levels central, state and local is doing a great job. Everyone across the world is learning through the way we are handling the situation.

Testing and social distancing are the two best options to reduce the transmission. All the stakeholders are cooperating for the effective implementation of this. Proper awareness and keeping calm will play an important role to contain the disease. People need to know that in the majority of cases, symptoms are mild and in India, detection percentage, as well as death percentage, is amongst the lowest. Efforts should be made to eliminate the myths that people have around COVID 19. Testing has to go up even further and in hotspot areas, rapid antibody tests can be used for screening. The government should even further extend the effort of mobilizing the strength of direct private and public entities."
