Central Government in the past two years is showing interest in the healthcare sector by launching Ayushmann Bharat and Medical Devices development council etc. We expect adequate fund allotment towards these schemes and initiatives so that Indian government at least spends 2.5 to 3 % of GDP for healthcare needs of the needy population. Medical Devices sector needs better focus to come out of 70% import dependency through Buy India policies along with Make in India Programs .Releasing of essential diagnostics steps by ICMR is a welcome step and now everting should be done to ensure availability of Quality Diagnostics Testing centres with NABL Accreditations even at village level deploying own and PPP models by Central & State governments across India. Hence a well thought out additional budget allocation is necessary for Healthcare Segment to improve the well-being of every citizen of India leading to Universal Quality Healthcare for all soon.
