In an effort to reduce turnaround times for tests related to pregnancy health checks including COVID-19 testing, LifeCell has announced the launch of its brand new modern Diagnostic Laboratory in Bengaluru dedicated to the complete protection of mother and child. As an exclusive lab for mother & child, this new facility will also offer tests for assessment of pregnancy health inviting genetics testing and RT-PCR testing apart from other routine diagnostic tests.

Committed to provide the safest screening test available to its community (mother and child), the new laboratory has already received accreditations from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) & National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) accreditations for COVID-19 RT-PCR testing. LifeCell will now offer RT-PCR testing through Chennai, Nellore (third party collaboration), and Bengaluru laboratories to accommodate the growing demand. Till date, nearly two lakh samples have already been tested.

This new addition to the world-class diagnostic capabilities will further support LifeCell’s commitment towards servicing COVID testing requirements through RT-PCR, and antibody tests, along with allied tests for parameters such as IL-6 and D-Dimer protein fragment, used for monitoring patients.

Commenting on this development, Mayur Abhaya, Managing Director, LifeCell, said, “It is our paramount commitment to set up pan-India satellite labs to become more accessible to our customers and offer them exceptional services in such unprecedented times. We further plan to launch at least two more satellite labs in the next six months.”

The pricing of COVID-19 tests will remain as per state government-stipulated guidelines. The documentary requirements will be in adherence to the norms set by ICMR and will include a government-approved photo ID, and ICMR Specimen Referral Form for COVID-19. LifeCell will also continue to offer doorstep sample collection facilities to provide a convenient testing experience to the patients and their families.
