The company has successfully isolated a natural strain of algae Dunaliella Salina and has developed the process for mass culture of these algae to produce natural betacarotene for various applications. Betacarotene is a precursor of Vitamin A, a fat-soluble micronutrient essential for healthy vision, cell reproduction, immune function, wound healing, and other crucial body functions.

The technology involves starting with fresh water for cultivation of algae and adding basic ingredients to make it to artificial seawater. When seawater is used, there are multitude of competing organisms that are likely to take up the media for growth. These can include at least 7 to 8 species of Dunaliella sp. itself, that do not produce betacarotene but grow well under the same conditions. The process technology envisages harvesting using flocculants while most existing commercial processes do so by centrifugation. The company is also developing a bio flocculant and is likely to put it to use shortly. These are the only antigens seen by the human immune system.
