SSI introduces bioinformatics course

The Chennai-based SSI Ltd has introduced a one-year full time course on bioinformatics. The course covers various bioinformatics related topics such as proteomics, genomics, bioinformatic tools, bioweave, molecular biology, pharmaco genomics and advanced Genetics. According to the company's press release, at the end of the course, the student will be allowed to take up a project, where in he will apply his bioinformatics knowledge to an area of his choice. The release says that SSI would offer the course in association with Gemiosys Research Labs, a Chennai based research organization working in the field of Biotechnology and specializing in bio-informatics. It has a varied experience in the development of scientific computing, networking and high throughput platforms to aid research in the area of drug discovery, says the release.
