Doctors at Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre, Mumbai successfully performed midline redo open heart surgery on a 48-year-old heart failure patient. The patient was suffering from advanced heart failure and successfully underwent a heart transplant four years after being operated upon for PTCA and Coronary artery bypass surgery at another hospital.
Dr Hemant P Pathare, Additional Director, Department of Heart & Lung Transplant surgery and his team used Oftilatting Saw by Stryker to treat the patient who was suffering repeated episodes of breathlessness, and swelling of the entire body, puffy face, and loss of appetite.
