Global 3D Labs has come out with a 3D printed 4-way ventilator splitter that can support 4 patients on a single ventilator

Bengaluru based company Global 3D Labs is putting its technology to best use in this fight against COVID-19.

With only 40,000 ventilators at the disposal for a population of 1.3 billion people, there will definitely be a shortage of these machines if the impact of coronavirus blows out of proportion.

Global 3D Labs has come out with a 3D printed 4-way ventilator splitter that can support 4 patients on a single ventilator. Although this model is being tried and tested to check if a single machine can support a requirement for 4, these splitters can be one of the viable options to look forward to, if and when the need arises.

Alongside, the company has also developed 3D printed N-95 masks to reduce the dependency on surgical masks. These masks are capable of filtering out 95% of small particles from the air, a final resort to completely eradicate the need for the use-and-throw face masks.

The company is also providing face shields for people working on close quarters with the infected patients. A total of 1200 shields have been printed and delivered to the ones in need. The printing is still going on at the maximum production capacity.
