‘Science City’ to be developed in Haryana

Manohar Lal Khattar, chief minister of Haryana recently met Dr. Mahesh Sharma, minister of state for Culture and Tourism to discuss the proposed ‘Science City’ to be developed in Haryana by the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) under Ministry of Culture.

Manohar Khattar suggested two sites for the project- either in Sonepat or in Gurugram. 

Dr. Mahesh Sharma assured him that NCSM team will soon visit the suggested places to assess the feasibility of the project. 

The proposed Science City in Haryana is expected to be bigger and more fabulous than the Science City in Kolkata. The total cost of the project is approx Rs 191 crores.

Education, extension and research are three main pillars of this project. Its purpose is to popularize science among masses, especially among students and youths. It will consist of Thematic Galleries, Fun Science Gallery and High Voltage sport Theatre etc.
