Government is working on Essential Health Technology on the lines of essential medicine: Health Minister

Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare recently inaugurated a Regional Consultative Workshop on Research Priority for Providing Accessible and Affordable Healthcare for the Northeastern States of India.
The workshop was jointly organised by Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India; Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH), Shillong and Indian Council of Medical Research - Regional Medical Research Centre, Dibrugarh.
During the occasion, the Union Health Minister launched a Master’s Programme on Health Economics and Technology Assessment in IIPH, Shillong. The programme will help the students learn and evaluate health intervention’s social, economic, and ethical impacts. The programme will also help assess health technology’s role in a priority setting.
Dr Mandaviya said that the government is working on Essential Health Technology on the lines of essential medicine. These efforts will make health technologies available, accessible, affordable and equitable for all people in the coming times.
