ICMR to launch nano-medicine task force

Considering the rapid progress in international arena there is an urgent need to initiate a need based goal oriented research in India which can lead to nano-enabled product and process with tangible impact in management of communicable and non-communicable diseases.

The goal of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Nanomedicine Task Force scheme would be to contribute to the benefit of patients and society by exploring and translating Nano-enabled technologies towards clinical application. The aim of the Task Force is to foster and encourage fruitful collaboration among the basic scientists, engineers and physicians for developing successful application of Nanotechnology.

The task force would focus on exploratory research based on specific need for clinical application, defining the novelty and superiority over the current practice including cost effectiveness; research for translation on demonstrated proof of the concept with a plan for preclinical &/Clinical trial.
