Dr Mohan holds the No. 1 position in India for the second consecutive year in the field of Endocrinology and Metabolism
Dr V. Mohan, Chairman of Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Specialities Centre & Madras Diabetes Research Foundation has been ranked No.1 in India by the Stanford University Global Ranking, a highly esteemed recognition in the field of scientific research. It is a measure of the impact and influence of scientists based on their H-index, which is a numerical indicator that quantifies the productivity and impact of a researcher's work.
Dr Mohan holds the No. 1 position in India for the second consecutive year in the field of Endocrinology and Metabolism. He has published 1646 papers which have received a no. of 191,256 citations and he has an enviable H-index of 153, highest among all medical scientists in India. Globally, the list comprises 210,199 scientists from all fields of scientific research expertise, out of which 4,635 scientists are from India (2.2%).
Dr Mohan oversees a chain of 48 diabetes centres across 8 states of India and has over 500,000 registered diabetes patients in his centres.
He has trained a large number of physicians & diabetologists in addition to nurses, educators and received over 180 awards including the prestigious Dr. B.C. Roy National Award by the Medical Council of India and the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Centenary Award from the Indian Council of Medical Research, the highest award for biomedical research in India. For his extensive contribution in the field of diabetes, in 2012 Dr Mohan was awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India.
