India’s leading cancer hospital, Cytecare Cancer Hospitals has announced the appointment of Dr Swati Bhat as Consultant – Pain and Palliative Care, Interventional Spine Specialist. Dr Swati Bhat is trained MD in anaesthesiology, and super specialises in Chronic Pain management. She specialises in minimally invasive advanced spine interventions like - Vertebroplasty, Biacuplasty, and Intrathecal drug delivery systems and Radiofrequency neuroplasty procedures. She will also lead the Palliative Care Fellowship programme that was launched this year under the aegis of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) at Cytecare.

Dr Swati is well experienced at treating facial pains, head, neck, back pain, Chronic joint pains like shoulder and knee pain, cancer pain, burning pains, wide spread body pains like fibromyalgia etc. In over 15 years of her rich experience, she has donned many feathers to her cap and achieved several milestones. She is trained and certified by the Government of India for telemedicine and conducts pain fellowship programmes for specialist doctors, and palliative care training for nurses and junior doctors.

Dr Swati has organised several National and International Conferences in the field of Pain like ICRA PAIN and Advanced Interventions in Management of Pain (AIM-P 2020). She is a visiting consultant, instructor and faculty at IPSC India, New Delhi. Dr Swati also holds various lifetime memberships with paramount associations such as; Indian Society for Study of Pain (ISSP), Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPC), member of the ISSP Insurance working core committee, ESRA (European Society for regional anaesthesia). She has several publications to her credit and has been an active speaker at both national and international conferences.
