Dr. Vaishya is one of the most prolific and well known researcher in the Orthopaedic community of India
Renowned Orthopaedic Surgeon and medical researcher Dr. (Prof.) Raju Vaishya was conferred the ‘Distinguished Researcher Ward’, which is one of the most prestigious Awards of Apollo group of Hospitals, by its Chairman, Dr. Prathap C. Reddy.
The award along with a citation was given to him during a glorious function, on the occasion of Founders Day of Apollo Hospitals this week at Madras University Auditorium, Chennai. The function was attended by a large number of distinguished guests, doctors and healthcare professionals.
After receiving the award, Prof. (Dr.) Raju Vaishya said, “I am thrilled to receive this recognition. However, this award is not for me as an individual. The award is for my team. Let us continue tirelessly, sparing no effort, in providing best healthcare service to our patients.”
Dr. Vaishya is one of the most prolific and well known researcher in the Orthopaedic community of India. He has more than 300 publications to his credit, in the various reputed International and National journals and have also authored many books and chapters. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the reputed Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics and Trauma. In addition, he is also on the Editorial board and Reviewer of several other well- known medical journals.
He has received the best paper publication awards of Delhi Orthopaedic Association and Apollo Hospitals, on several occasions. He is also credited publishing maximum number of 58 articles in one year in 2015. Some of his published research work have the biggest case series, in the world. For his excellent and rare clinical cases, he has featured four times in the Limca book of records.
Dr Vaishya is also the recipient of several other distinguished awards like Dr. B.C. Roy Oration Award and Gold medal, Siemens-GAPIO innovation award in Medicine, Pride of Asia International Award, Vijaya Raje Scindia Excellence award, Professor’s gold medal for the best research at Oswestry, University of Birmingham, UK and the Best Researcher IRJULA title awards. The world famous Royal College of Surgeons of England had also conferred him FRCS.
