“To acknowledge organisations and individuals who have made groundbreaking contributions to the Nanotech sector, the government of Karnataka has increased Karnataka DST Nanoscience Fellowships amount to Rs 50,000” said Dr Ekroop Caur, Secretary to Government, Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka.

Speaking at the Curtain Raiser event for the 13th Bengaluru INDIA NANO 2024 in Bengaluru, on July 2, Dr Ekroop said “The Bengaluru INDIA NANO Innovation Award is a prestigious honour. The recipient of the Bengaluru INDIA NANO Innovation Award will be duly recognised and celebrated among their peers in both the industrial and scientific communities. These awards specifically recognize Nanotechnology-enabled breakthroughs in various fields, including Climate, Healthcare, Energy, Manufacturing, Hydrogen Economy, Semiconductor technology, Medicine, Electronics, Climate, Healthcare, Materials science, Aerospace & Defense, Energy & Environment, Agriculture & Biotech, and Water Management/Solutions. The awards will be conferred upon deserving individuals, teams, or organisations who have significantly contributed to these innovations. It's important to note that only Indian nationals working within India are eligible to apply for these awards.”

The Bengaluru INDIA NANO 2024 event, from August 1 to August 3, will witness the bestowing of the coveted ‘Prof. C.N.R. Rao Bengaluru INDIA NANO Science Award’ for making meaningful contributions to Nanoscience. Another prestigious ‘Bengaluru INDIA NANO Innovation Award’ will be presented for Innovative & Disruptive Technology Development in Nanotech. Both the award carries a Trophy, Certificate and Cash Prize of Rs 1,00,000.

Besides there will be other awards including the Nano Excellence Award- to the best researchers in the realm of Nanoscience; Best Poster- The Best Students for revolutionary research; Exhibitor Awards- For the best showcase across various categories.
