Millipore
(India) Pvt. Ltd, manufacturer of a range of purification products, plans to
double the capacity at its Bangalore center. The company also plans to set up a
development laboratories.
The company has three manufacturing facilities in India, France and the US. The company invests about eight percent of its turnover on R & D, said a company official. Apart from manufacturing of purification products, Millipore offers training to the industry people. Every year it is providing training to over 250 professionals. "We are planning to increase this figure to 400 by next year, " said the official.
Millipore with three divisions — catalysts, hardware and lab water—caters to the requirements sectors such as life sciences research, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Life sciences account for 52 percent of its sales, followed by biotechnology ( 34) and pharma (14).
