The integrated programs in biotechnology, microbial technology and bioinformatics have been formulated at the SLS, Jaipur National University, to provide a broad-based curriculum with interdisciplinary approach as well as in-depth understanding of effective and innovative practices. The school, during year 2012-13, collectively admitted 47 students for its MSc course.

The school has 26 well-furnished and fully-equipped state-of-the-art laboratories, an aircooled and fully computerized library, and well-trained, talented and dedicated faculty. Since the year 2008, the school has published 65 research papers in the national journals and 47 published in international journals. The research activities are specified for each student, done in collaboration with a specific industry. Review of literature, seminars and discussions are organized on a regular basis.

The students from the school are mostly selected through off-campus interviews. Few of the companies in which the students have found placement are Alkem Research Laboratories, Alpha Laboratories, Food Corporation of India, Novartis, Panacea Biotec, Torrent, Wockhardt, and many others.
The school has entered into collaborative projects with Institute of Horticulture, Bangalore, and A&D Agriculture University, Faizabad at a cost of Rs 96 lakh. Another partnership with ICAR, IARI, Delhi, Institute of Horticulture, Banglore, A&D Agriculture University, Faizabad is worth Rs 1.96 lakh. Its project ''Pathophysiology of mobile phone radiation: Effect on rat brain and reproductive system" has been funded by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR, New Delhi) at a cost of Rs 25 lakh over a period of three years (July 2012- June 2015)
