Apollo Hospital, Indore, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Medtronic India to establish a specialised Renal Denervation Therapy Centre to manage resistant and uncontrolled hypertension.
The collaboration aims to improve clinical intervention for patients unresponsive to conventional hypertension medication and enhance training for healthcare professionals on non-pharmacological treatment strategies.
The programme also aims to upskill medical personnel via expert-led training and workshops, and drive patient awareness initiatives to empower informed decisions about blood pressure management.
According to the National Health Mission, hypertension is a leading cause of ischemic heart disease and stroke in India, accounting for 1.6 million deaths annually.
