Mumbai based Zytex's revenue for the FY 15-16 was Rs 55 crore against Rs 48 crore in FY 14-15. It is projecting a 20 percent growth for the present fiscal. The firm attributes its growth to increased activities in R&D and development and being focused on bacillus technology.

Zytex set up its first manufacturing facility in 1996 at Silvassa for enzyme formulation. In 2009 a new state-of-the-art fermentation facility in Baroda. Zytex has a world-class R&D centre and application support lab approved by DSIR (Department of Science and Industrial Research), Government of India.

It is the first company in India to develop and manufacture Nattokinase Enzyme (NattoLife) and Gamma-Polyglutamic acid (Aquadip). Zytex develops and markets enzymes and biotech products in more than 5 countries to improve process efficiencies, performance and sustainability in a wide range of industries, from textile, nutraceutical, cosmetic, animal feed and agriculture.

Zytex is also the chosen partner for Unilever's global enzyme analytical lab for their home care division supporting more than 70 factories and labs around the world. Zytex is expert in production of bacillus strains.

 

In the last financial year, the firm opened new division 'PlantbiotiX' - a BioAgri division with focus in 3 areas - bio nutrition, bio control and soil health, launched its commercial products in India and under testing in several countries. It also expanded the fermentation capacity by 50 percent. The firm also bagged research grant from DBT under BIRAC.

The firm's future plans include expansion of fermentation capacity and also strategic tie ups.
